I have a small doubt can you just elucidate me what is the meaning of pure heart. What is inner soul and from where do we get real happiness?
Answer by HH Bhakti Vikāsa Swami:
The meaning of a pure heart is one which is not covered by contamination. The nature of the soul is pure, but we come in contact with material energy due to our wrong desire to enjoy separately from Kṛṣṇa. Therefore we become… Yeah, that desire, that original desire (kāma), from that comes kāma, krodha, lobha, moha, mada, mātsarya – lust, anger, greed, pride, illusion, envy. These are various coverings on the soul. When these are removed, the soul is stated to be in a pure state, although by nature the soul is pure. So, when you say the inner soul, that means the soul not covered by these contaminations. Where do we get real happiness? Real happiness is Kṛṣṇa. So, in the pure state we can appreciate Kṛṣṇa. Real happiness is in Kṛṣṇa consciousness.
