Why Channa Avatar in Kali-yuga

Prahlada Maharaja mentions in his prayers to Lord Narsimha Deva that the Supreme Lord is called triyugi becuase He appears in three yugas except kaliyuga and in Kaliyuga He appears as channa avatar. What is the reason that the Supreme Lord does not reveal His identity as the Supreme Personality of Godhead in Kali-yuga. Can someone shed some light on this with proper pramana?
