Вопрос:

Next question is about Golden Age.

Answer by HH Bhakti Vikāsa Swami:

"Well, I’m not sure from where this particular term comes, while in sanskṛit it would be svarṇa-yuga.

But, it is stated in Brahmā-vaivarta Purāṇa that during the Kali-yuga, which is the dark age, it would be a period of 10 000 years in which devotees are chanting the holy names... Like that.

It’s surely understood to began with appearance of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu in Navadvīpa, in the Christian year 1486.

So, we may say what’s so golden about what is going on in the world now.
All the world supposed to end today, right?
We have another 3,5 hours to see whether the prediction came true or not.
Of course, even at midnigth, when we go to the 22nd, it will still be the 21nd, further western here. Anyway, ehm... Yeah, that’s one of the symptom of stupidity of this modern age.
For sure, maybe not tomorrow, but after a few days there’ll be a new day given for the end of the world.
Oh, it’s the end of the world! Ooooo! Aaaaa!
(Drums are heard in the background)
You see, we have special effects.
What do you think Kalānidhi, you are in a drama line?

-The thunderbolt.

You don’t sound very concerned.

So, we may say what’s golden when there are so many bad things in the world.
Well, yeah, that’s to be expected in Kali-yuga. But quite a lot of people are chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa and going back to Godhead. So, that’s the gold."
